  <title>Battlefield 2: Stats Outage Compensation</title>
  <link>http://bf2.gamersnation.co.uk/Core/article/sid=1623.html</link>
<description>As mentioned on the Battlefield web site, plans are under way to compensate players for stats lost during their recent Battlefield 2 stats outage. According to PlanetBattlefield, EA decided to grant active players during the outage an additional 2000 points plus a gold star (wheeee!):Following the June outage of Battlefield 2 player stats, DICE and EA have been working to compensate all players who were active during that time for the frustrating inconvenience we realise this issue represented. We were particularly eager to provide this as it was recently discovered that stats from some 64 player servers during the outage period cannot be recovered as we had previously believed and sincerely hoped. Stats from smaller servers should be unaffected however we realise this still represents a disappointing loss of play time recognition for some players and wish to apologise for that unanticipated outcome. After examining all the options, it has been decided that players who were active during the stats outage will be granted an additional 2000 points as well as a gold star. This will be awarded to over 150,000 affected players from midnight onwards (US West coast time) on Wednesday August 8th. We hope this goes some way towards redressing the balance and wish to again apologise for the frustration this stats issue represented for many of you.See you all on the Battlefield.</description>

  <title>BF2 Stats Back Online</title>
  <link>http://bf2.gamersnation.co.uk/Core/article/sid=1581.html</link>
<description>EA announces that they&#039;ve repaired the Battlefield 2 Stats System:
The issue with Battlefield 2 stats not tracking has now been resolved. After the cause was isolated a fix was put into place by the server team earlier this week. Having monitored the situation for the past few days we are now convinced that this was effective in resolving the problem. A smaller issue with Special Forces army play time not tracking was also resolved shortly after it was pointed out to us by community members this week.

We would like to apologise for any frustration caused by both these issues, we hope you enjoy earning your unlocks and ranks now that system is working as intended.

<title>BF2 Mod Forgotten Hope: Siege of Tobruk</title>
  <link>http://bf2.gamersnation.co.uk/Core/article/sid=1386.html</link>
<description>The guys over at Forgotten Hope posted some news on the release of the Siege of Tobruk MiniMap.

Siege of Tobruk is the title and that is what you will get to see. We would like to present the first screenshots and the minimap layout for the Tobrukmap made by Lobo. Tobruk, as one of the few significant ports in Libya, was a prize worth a serious fight. And that not only once.

This map is set in the early months of the year 1941 when Tobruk was first under siege by German forces under the command of Lieutenant General Erwin Rommel. His Afrika Korps tried to capture the city for nearly half a year. Almost 35,000 German soldiers where involved fighting roughly 14,000 Allied men. 9,009 Allied soldiers were killed during the attack on the fort. The casualties on the German side were nearly 8,000 men.

Responsible for the manufacturing is British Aerospace, Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm (MBB) / DASA (Germany) und Aeritalia SpA / Alenia (Italy). Overall 977 Tornados are build and in service in several air forces. In Germany the Tornado is in service since 1981.

The Second update is about the new small weaponcarrier &quot;Wiesel&quot;. Here you can see the first pictures:

  <title>Battlegroup Frontlines News</title>
  <link>http://bf2.gamersnation.co.uk/Core/article/sid=1359.html</link>
<description>The guys from Battlegroup Frontlines have released news about their mod for Battlefield 2 with 4 stunning looking images. The news is about the inclusion of a KV-2 Tank to the mod. It originally comes from BG42 and was modeled and skinned by Koricus. The Skin was touched up by Tomcraft for BF2, while takiwa was responsible for the tank-engine, which means he did the code for the KV-2.

The Kliment Voroshilov (KV) tanks were a series of Soviet heavy tanks, named after the Soviet defense commissar and politician Kliment Voroshilov. At the time of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in World War II, these were amongst the large number of Soviet tanks that were superior to German tanks. The KV-2 heavy support tank version of the KV series was developed for the destruction of bunkers and other difficult targets in support of KV-1 tanks. It was an unwieldy machine, with a massive slab sided turret. The KV-2 was used against the Mannerheim Line in Finland and during the opening stages of the “Great Patriotic War” where it proved to be a formidable weapon when placed at strategic road junctions.

The original series production model KV-2 M-1940 model was built in very small numbers (only three). The early model had a bolted turret with a sloped frontal aspect. None survived Operation Barbarossa. The later M-1940-41 model was the definitive production model. Armed with a modernized M 1938-40 ML-20S howitzer, some 100 were built.
